Service Summary
The IBD Service forms part of the Surgery Health Care Group.
The IBD Service provides diagnosis and on going care for people with IBD including:
- Medical treatment
- Education / advice
- Emotional support
- Rapid access to clinical care
- Inpatient liaison
The IBD service works with other services and departments to provide high quality multidisciplinary care. This includes:
- Joint medical / Surgical clinics
- Joint Adult / Paediatric clinics for transitional care
- Dieticians
- Stoma Nurses
- Medical Day Unit
- Endoscopy Unit (Hull Royal and Castle Hill Hospitals)
- Radiology Department
- Clinical Psychology
Research
We are an active Research Department with a number of specific Inflammatory Bowel Disease related studies. We run a number of national and international trials from various aspects of IBD including genetics, newer diagnostic modalities and treatments.
