The outpatients clinics which take place within the Queen’s Centre include immunology, outpatient antibiotic therapy (OPAT), oncology and haematology. These clinics run independently but are managed as one department and although in general the process of how patients are seen is similar, there are obvious differences, dependant on why a person has been referred and specific written and verbal information will be given to you at the time.
It is not always possible for every patient to be seen by the consultant personally so you may be seen by a member or the team. The Trust is a teaching hospital, so you may on occasion be asked whether you object to student nurses or doctors sitting in on your consultation.
