Requests for transport to and from outpatient appointments can now only be booked up to three working days prior to the scheduled appointment.
Journeys for renal and oncology patients can be booked as normal.
Community Transport
There are community transport alternatives for the Hull area that are available to patients. These are backed by Hull City Council and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
A small fee is charged and payable by the patient at the time of transportation.

Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (PTS)
Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service is for patients who are unable to use their own, public or community transport because of a medical condition. It caters for those patients who are either too ill to get to or from hospital without assistance, or for whom getting there may cause their condition to deteriorate.
This service is defined as the non-urgent, planned transportation of patients with a medical need for transportation to and from premises providing NHS healthcare.

Hospital Travel Claim Scheme (HTCS)
If you are not eligible for patient transport but you are on low income, or in receipt of Income Support, Working Families Tax Credit or Income Based Job Seeker’s allowance, you may be able to claim back travel expenses through the Hospital Travel Claim Scheme (HTCS).
