There are 5 wards in the Queen’s Centre (Ward 29 through to Ward 33) with 4 of them being dedicated to the care of cancer patients and the other being specifically for rehabilitation. There are 114 beds in total with 99 of them being for our cancer patients and 15 being for rehab.
Wards 29 through to 32 are primarily oncology wards and 33 is primarily our haematology ward, but this does change depending on the current case mix. Ward 33 also incorporates our high dependency unit.
The ward area is also home to our teenage and young adults unit which provides care for 18 to 24 year olds. The unit has a pool table, jukebox and other recreational facilities designed for patients of this age. This unit is supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust.
