We are now looking to open up opportunities for students in Years 10, 12 and 13 (as well as those in FE colleges) to undertake appropriate work experience here at HUTH. To be eligible students must:
- Be in full time education in a school or college within either Hull or the East Riding of Yorkshire
- Be able to undertake work experience during term times only (i.e. not during holidays)
- Be looking to take no more than 2 weeks’ (10 days’) work experience
How to apply
Please can we ask that all placement requests are made via our partners at Hull City Council’s Employability Team. To do this, students simply need to advise their school or college career advisor/officer that they wish to undertake work experience at Hull University Teaching Hospitals and state which particular service is of interest to them. The career advisor/officer will then liaise with Hull City Council to ensure all the necessary checks are completed and that a suitable placement can be identified.
For those in Year 10 (aged 16 or under) we are unable to offer clinical placements but a role within one of our many non-clinical services may be extremely valuable and of interest instead.
Please can we advise that all requests for work experience must be made via a career advisor/officer and Hull City Council. This is to ensure we keep students, staff, and — critically — our patients safe. As such, although we are very grateful for your interest in Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, any ad-hoc or direct requests outside of this process will be politely declined.
If you have any queries regarding requests for work experience please, in the first instance, speak with you school or college career advisor/officer. For any additional queries please email hyp-tr.nhs.experience@nhs.net
