Introduction
The clinical Nurse Specialist Team have specialist skills, knowledge and experience within gynaecology oncology.
We are key members of the multi-disciplinary team involved in your care. Between us we have many years experience and chosen to specialize within the field of gynaecology and gynaecology cancer.
We have undertaken further studies to enable us to develop our specialist knowledge. We work as a team and offer support and guidance to patients who are being investigated or are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.
What can we offer you?
These can be confusing and challenging times. Our role is to support you and provided a continuing link through all aspects of your investigations and care. This may include:
- Helping you and your family understand the treatment and care you will receive.
- Helping you make decisions about your care.
- Answering questions you may have.
- Helping you talk about the things you feel are important to you.
- Referring you other services for advice and support.
How will it help?
It can make things less worrying when you can talk to someone who has:
- Time to listen.
- The experience to answer your questions.
- The skill to support you.
No question is too small. If it helps in any way, please ask. It is important that you have access to all available support and know who to contact.
Where are based?
We visit the ward and clinical areas regularly to see all women who have been referred to us. We also make contact with patients over the telephone.
We are based at Castle Hill Hospital and office working hours are:
- Monday 8 am to 4 pm
- Tuesday 8 am to 6 pm
- Wednesday 8 am to 4 pm
- Thursday 8 am to 4 pm
- Friday 8 am to 4 pm
We do not work Bank holidays or weekends. All answer machine messages left will be dealt with either the same day or the next working day.
